RESUMO

The data are provided on proliferative activity of myocytes in rabbit embryos and neonates. In rabbit embryos, in which myocardial regeneration is effected at the cellular level, mitoses of myocytes are largely important for myocyte proliferation. In rabbit neonates which do not show any complete regeneration of the myocardium, mitoses of myocytes are of primary importance for myocardial polyploidy. Minor mechanical injury to rabbit myocardium in early ontogenesis contributes to activation of the processes of hear muscle differentiation.

RESUMO

An area of the myocardium of 23-day-old rabbit fetuses after mechanical tramua was studied electron-microscopically. Six days after trauma in the focus of lesion myocardial cells were found the general submicroscopic organization of which was identical to the ultrastructure of myocardium cells of intact animals and muscle cells of other parts of the left ventricle of the heart of experimental animals. Besides, in the former focus of lesion of the myocardium tissue electron microscopy revealed younger myocardial cells than those in the myocardium of the intact animals as well as cells showing early stages of differentiation. The results indicate that at the site of the lost myocardial tissue in 23-day-old rabbit fetuses 6 days after trauma there appears an intact cross-striated musculature of the heart.

RESUMO

The author describes a method used for injury of rabbit fetuses myocardium on the 20-24th days of pregnancy. The abdominal cavity and the uterus of pregnant rats were incised and the amniotic sac and thoracic wall of the fetus -- punctured, thus injuring the heart. Two methods were used: in the first case the amniotic sac was completely drawn out from the uterine cavity, and in the other case -- it remained in the uterus and was punctured through the uterine incision. If the operation was not followed by abortion the animals gave birth to viable full-term rabbits.

RESUMO

Healing processes of the myocardium after an injury during the intrauterine period were studied. After the mechanical trauma of the heart the rabbit fetus is kept in the maternal organism and is born in due course. It was found that the healing of the injured part of the cardiac muscle occurred shortly and was due to the high proliferative activity of the cells. Morphological structure of the tissue appearing at the site of injury is very similar to that of the muscle tissue. However, further studies are necessary for final decision.
